My bio
My name is Lawrence 鈥淟arry鈥 Yeung, MD, and I am an associate professor at the University of Florida College of Medicine. I also serve as the medical director for the department of urology. A proud gator, I earned my medical degree and completed my residency in urology at the University of Florida. Following residency, I completed a fellowship in urologic reconstruction, urologic trauma and prosthetic urology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
I specialize in the care of patients who suffer from the side effects of urologic trauma or damage to the urinary tract from treatment of pelvic malignancies. My other clinical interests include erectile dysfunction, low testosterone, urethral strictures, hydronephrosis, bladder neck contracture, ureteral stricture, urinary tract fistula, reconstruction of the urinary tract, ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction, buried penis, genitourinary thrombosis and treatments for male stress urinary incontinence, including male urethral slings, ProAct adjustable balloon implants, and artificial urinary sphincters.
Growing up, I always enjoyed fixing things to make them work as they were intended. When I decided on a career in medicine, I knew I wanted to be a surgeon so I could 鈥渇ix things鈥 that needed repair. Urology was a specialty that appealed to me because it allowed me to provide longitudinal medical and surgical care to patients. Often times, the urological diagnoses I discuss with my patients have multiple solutions with no one best answer. As a physician, I make sure to spend the time explaining all of the options in detail to provide the solution that will best improve their quality of life, while taking the patient鈥檚 goals and desires into account.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy saltwater fishing and farming. I also enjoy tending to my small blueberry farm in town.
