My bio
My name is Charlotte Redd, and I'm a physical therapist at BOB体育. I specialize in orthopaedic physical therapy, having completed a residency at BOB体育 Shands and received a therapeutic pain specialist certification from Purdue University and the Evidence in Motion program. I also received my doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Florida. Additionally, I'm a board-certified orthopaedic physical therapist recognized by the APTA American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
From a young age, I've been fascinated by human anatomy and physiology. Growing up playing sports, I encountered my fair share of injuries and setbacks, which inspired me to pursue orthopedic physical therapy as my calling. One of my primary objectives is to educate patients about pain mechanisms, particularly emphasizing the role of the nervous system and brain in pain perception. I'm passionate about enlightening individuals on how external factors such as stress, sleep deprivation, and emotional distress can influence and exacerbate persistent pain, hindering recovery. My ultimate aim is to empower patients, encouraging them to adopt an active role in managing their pain and rehabilitation journey. In addition, I also specialize in low back pain, chronic pain and pain neuroscience education.
Currently, I'm actively engaged in a randomized clinical trial with UFP Neurologists, examining outcomes for post-spinal surgery in the older population. Previously, my research delved into the correlation between kinesiophobia and its impact on health-related quality of life across various injury locations.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I find joy in various hobbies. Cooking, traveling, hiking, sampling new cuisines, staying active through workouts and cherishing moments with my two daughters bring balance to my life. Being happily married and a proud mother to my two daughters, family remains at the core of my motivation and happiness.
