The Center for Inflammation and Mucosal Immunology cordially invites you to a guest lecture presented by Dr. Ellen Zimmermann entitled Crohns Disease: Radiographic Imaging for Detecting Disease Activity and Complications. The presentation is summarized by Dr. Zimmermann in the following paragraph:

Intestinal inflammation in patients with Crohns disease progresses to tissue fibrosis, leading to significant morbidity. Impacting this natural history is a major goal of therapy, and a non-invasive test for monitoring disease progression is key to understanding the disease pathogenesis and for optimizing therapies. Our studies are a classic example of using basic science to develop technology that enables the leap from clinical need to clinical practice.
